Try This: Thursday Night Observing and Lecture at the UofA Observatory #yeg

Want to learn something while you’re on a date? Every Thursday at the University of Albert observatory, you can come and check out a public lecture and learn something you didn’t know about the sky. Try is this week; Stargazing is actually better in the winter – read it here.

Find it: The Department of Physics Astronomical Observatory is located on the West end of the 5th floor of the Centennial Centre for Interdisciplinary Science on the main campus of the University of Alberta. Click here for directions.

Drop in on Thursday nights. Lectures are at 7 pm, and the viewing time depend on the time of year. Between November and February, viewing time starts as early as 7 pm – giving you lots of time to go out to dinner after this free date night learning something new. Drop in Thursdays are available when school is in session.

YEGDateNight started with a way to inspire ourselves to get out of our dinner and a movie rut. We wanted to share the many things to do in Edmonton and area, with people that may or may not have been under the impression that there's nothing going on in the city. It's grown into the go to place to find out what to do in Edmonton, a space where we share date night inspiration for couples, friends and groups in Edmonton.
