Outdoor yoga is a revitalizing way to start the morning or end a weekend, and this summer, there are plenty of options to keep you nimble (and outdoors) through August.
Zen at the Zoo | August 10th at 6 am
Increase your karma and spread good vibes, by joining the ARK Project for early morning Yoga and Meditation Combination at the Edmonton Valley Zoo! Bring your mats, friends and be ready to do some animal inspired yoga and meditation combination August 10th. We are hosting yoga with our fabulous instructor Jen. Class will start at 6:00 a.m., and will go for one hour. This class is for all abilities and ages and is by donation to the animals at the zoo. Bring your own Mat, however, if you don’t have one or you forget we will have limited extras on site! All proceeds will go towards Nature’s Wild Backyard and the revitalization of the Edmonton Valley Zoo.
Yogalife in the Park | August 13th, 3pm
We will be hosting a Yoga class to raise funds for Free2BMe yoga class in the park for our Karma Program which we launched August 1st. Suggested donation is $5. Itinerary includes:
3:00: Arrival and sign up, 3:15-3:45 Presenter from Free2bme to share about the organization, 4:-5:30 Yoga class in the park, 530-6 pm – refreshments provided.
This Month we are working with the Free2BMe program which is an organization for Physical Activity for Kids and Teens with Disabilities at the Steadward Centre in the UofA.
River Valley Yoga | August 16th, 23rd, 30th
We’re so excited to bring back another summer of complimentary outdoor yoga at different parks around the city, better known as River Valley Yoga. Each month we will be hosting a different teacher at a park near you on the same day, at the same time, every week — Tuesday’s at 6pm. Schedule: August 16 – Sarah Zanbeek (Noorish Yoga and Meditation), August 23 – Amanda Bell Tardiff (The SATTVA School of Yoga), August 30 – Jason Morris (Lion’s Breath Yoga + Adventure).
Peace in the Park | Louise McKinney Park
An afternoon celebrating the best of YEG community and in support of the CASA foundation. Girls Club dj’s will kick off the beats at 12:00pm when registration opens and our yoga class begins at 1:00pm. Spud will be on site offering up delicious fresh snacks, enjoy our vendors and more importantly shop our silent auction! 100% of the proceeds of this event go to CASA which is an incredible local chairty that supports child, adolescent, and families with mental health. There will be door prizes and so much more; the best part is there is no yoga experience required! Tickets are $25 online and $30 on site.
