Silver Creek Lodge has been dubbed ‘Mountain Zen’ for a reason. Luxurious accommodations with mountain view, a spa like hot pools experience in a zen garden, the soaker tub perfect for settling in with a glass of wine and a delicious dinner option right in the hotel.
It’s one of those weekend getaways where you’re going to feel immediately refreshed when you arrive at the hotel for check-in. The serene lobby with water features is the first thing we noticed when we walked into the lobby to check in.
Relaxation with a View
Arriving in our room, we loved the spacious living area, the inviting bed and the incredible soaker tub (big enough for two) and perfect for settling in with a glass of wine, or two, before you retreat to the inviting and comfortable bed in the room.
The gorgeous and rustic design of the bathroom was my favourite part, only second to the view when we walked out the window. The relaxing atmosphere of the room was helped along, with the double sided fireplace, between the bathroom and the bedroom – it was so relaxing.
We fell in love with the in-room Aveda products, the rosemary mint is incredible and I couldn’t get enough. Want more? You can find a great selection in the Spa, on your way to the hot pools.
We found the robes in the closet, and immediately headed down to the hot pools, the perfect way to relax after the drive to the mountains. The spa music, and feeling like you were in a serene garden was the perfect way to end an evening. The temperature was just right, and the mountain air was refreshing in contrast.
One of the jetted tubs wasn’t working while we were there, so we made our way over to the next tub and spent some time relaxing before heading out for a late dinner. Feeling both relaxed and refreshed, we headed back to our room.
This weekend, we didn’t have time to hit the spa, with the adventures we had planned, but next time around we plan to visit the Bodhi Tree Spa for an Aromatherapy message or the refreshing mint wrap or body and sole massage. Walking through the spa, to get the hot pools was incredibly relaxing – I imagine the spa experience would be even more so.
Dinner In (or Out)
There are many options for places to eat in Canmore, but if you’re searching for something delicious – you don’t have to look further than the Wild Orchid Bistro. For something low-key, you can get take-out and eat on the balcony in the room, overlooking the mountains, or have a late-dinner in bed. While we were there, we learned that some of the most popular items on the take-out menu are the Ginger Chicken and the Teriyaki Bison Burger. You have to try the creme brulee – it was delicious.
There was one thing that we remarked on all weekend long – and it was the fact that Silver Creek Lodge was the perfect date-cation. The relaxing atmosphere, the spa experience, delicious food options and the closeness to the trails of Canmore making it easy to explore – all of this worked well together to create an experience that’s perfect for a weekend getaway, getting us out of the city and exploring somewhere new.
For a wonderful weekend getaway experience, you can reserve at www.silvercreekcanmore.ca and choose from one or two bedroom suites, or a standard hotel room. Our tips? Book early, weekends fill quickly during high-demand months.
