Cheap Date Idea: Earth Hour Race on March 12

Keeping date night exciting is simple when there are so many fun activities and events going on in Edmonton. If you’re looking for a way to mix it up a little and sign you and a date up to take part in 12 challenges across both MacEwan and U of A campuses.

Earth Hour Race

Participants in the 2nd annual Earth Hour Race 2016 will race around both MacEwan City Centre Campus and the University of Alberta ECHA building, completing physical and mental challenges. Teams of 2 will race to complete a circuit of at least 12 challenges. Food and refreshments will follow, as well as post-race results and a preview of a new (and improved) Earth Hour online initiative.

We hope that excitement and publicity from this event will help promote Earth Hour 2016 which happens one week later, on March 19th (from 8:30pm – 9:30pm).

Prizes

Prizes include: A number of group passes (up to 6 people) to experience an Escape City adventure, $25 gift cards to the MacEwan mStore, Prize packs from the U of A Office of Sustainability and much more.

The Details

There is a fee of $15 per team – that’s a cheap date idea, that’s going to give you lots to talk about and plenty of room left over in the date budget for dinner.

YEGDateNight Team

YEGDateNight started with a way to inspire ourselves to get out of our dinner and a movie rut. We wanted to share the many things to do in Edmonton and area, with people that may or may not have been under the impression that there's nothing going on in the city. It's grown into the go to place to find out what to do in Edmonton, a space where we share date night inspiration for couples, friends and groups in Edmonton.
