5 Incredible Places to Watch the Sunset in Edmonton

Catching the sunset with a picnic or snack from one of your favourite places in the city, on a blanket, lookout point, or benches – is a date idea that you should try at least once. With late summer sunsets coming up, we’re sharing some of the best places to watch the sunset in Edmonton.

Where to Watch the Sunset in Edmonton 

the End of the World | One of the unofficial lookout points of the city, turned official with construction set for 2017, this ‘hidden’ lookout spot is one of those places to watch the sunset with that special someone.

Grant Notley park Gazebo | Grant Notley is a small pocket park situated at the top of Victoria Parkway, at the corner of 100 Avenue and 116 Street.  It doesn’t have a playground or a fountain or ball field or skate park.  In fact, other than the gazebo, a monument, a picnic table, and park benches, there’s not a whole lot to Grant Notley.  Except some of the best River Valley views in the city.  The views alone make it a worthwhile destination if you are in the area.

Strathcona Science Park | At the South end of the Science Park, there’s a wooden walkway. At the end of the wooden walkway, there’s a lookout point that makes for incredible views of the sunset in Edmonton.

Riverside Drive | Drive along Riverside Drive until you find a spot that looks comfortable. Bring a blanket to spread out on the grass, but there are also benches if you don’t want to sit on the ground and get ready for the sunset with a view.

Ada Boulevard | Walking along Ada Blvd, you’ll have the option to take paths into the River Valley, or catch those stunning sunset views from various lookout points.
