We’re in the midst of winter festival season, and it’s magical – isn’t it? To kick off this weekend, we’ve got the Deep Freeze Fest, where you can head outside and enjoy hot chocolate and winter magic (the weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend) – changing up your usual indoor dates.

Ice Sculptures, celebrating winter, interesting exhibits and the chance to get outside – it doesn’t get much better than that. Food vendors will be on site, making it a great time to try something new.
Market Cooking Demo | City Market Downtown
Chef Daniel will be showcasing fresh seasonal local ingredients from the market and show you how to create your own sensational dishes at home! At the end of the cooking demo, each registered participant will receive a printed recipe card and $5 in City Market Bucks to spend at market after the demonstration.

Swing n Skate | Churchill Square
The weather this weekend is going to be gorgeous, so it’s the perfect time to get outside. Swing ‘n Skate will feature live swing, jazz and big band music in the City Room at City Hall from 1:00 – 4:00 pm on Sundays throughout January and February. This season’s acts, including Trocadero Orchestra, Dave Babcock and his Jump Orchestra, and the Gateway Big Band, are sure to get you jiving – with the friendly help of the Sugar Swing Dance Club! If you’d rather be outdoors, the music will be broadcast directly outside for the enjoyment of ice skaters on City Hall Plaza. Free skate rentals will be available on a first come, first serve basis (dependent on weather and ice conditions).
