Wine and Wildlife | Edmonton Valley Zoo
The Edmonton Valley Zoo is partnering with the Royal Alberta Museum to bring you Wine & Wildlife – Awesome Invertebrates! What is the connection between elephants and millipedes? Join Pete Heule from the Royal Alberta Museum as he answers this question and others as he shows us some of the amazing “bugs” from the museum’s Bug Room. Enjoy a glass of wine and some appetizers as we take a look at the importance of invertebrates, both at the Zoo and out in the wider world. Course code needed for registration: 572211.

War of the Worlds Radio Show | Fort Edmonton Park
F.O.R.T Radio kicks off the Halloween season with a live old-timey radio broadcast based on the original adaptations of H.G. Wells’ War of the Worlds. Come see the inner workings of a radio station as it tells the story of a martian invasion on earth, using vintage music and sound effects to bring the classic tale of terror to life. Be part of a live radio audience and join the thrills and chills of some good old-fashioned science fiction.

Brunching and Bread Windows | Chartier
From delicious treats that you can pick up outside of the restaurant at the bread window, to delicious brunching that includes one of the best breakfast sandwiches we’ve ever eaten, with the crispest, perfectly seasoned potatoes to go along with it, head to Chartier this weekend for brunch. While you’re there, try a cinnamon bun (they’re delicious) and if you’re feeling indulgent, have your breakfast sandwich with their delicious, indulgent, poutine.
